ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Weil Antique Center, a longstanding Lehigh County destination for antiques and collectibles, is preparing to relocate after more than 20 years at its Salisbury Township location. The center, home to over 125 vendors, will close its doors at 2200 31st St. SW on June 30 and plans to reopen in early September at the Parkway Shopping Center, located at 1471 Lehigh St. in Allentown.
The move follows the property’s acquisition in late 2023 by Vinart Dealerships, which operates several nearby auto dealerships. Andrew Wright, managing partner of Vinart, confirmed that the site will be integrated into the company’s broader automotive operations, with specific redevelopment plans forthcoming once the antique center vacates.
Weil Antique Center was established in November 2002 in a converted warehouse just off Lehigh Street by Rick and Cindy Weil, who began their retail journey in 1983 with the launch of Weil Clocks. The business evolved over the years into a multi-vendor marketplace, attracting customers with a wide variety of antique and vintage merchandise, including furniture, clocks, books, toys, jewelry, tools, sports memorabilia, and local historical items.
The relocation to Parkway Shopping Center will see the antique center occupy a lower-level, approximately 30,000-square-foot space previously used as a bowling alley and, more recently, a business school. The new site has been vacant for several years and is set to undergo extensive renovations this summer. The lease is expected to be finalized later this week, according to Michael Sheftel, a commercial agent with The James Balliet Property Group, which manages leasing at the center.
While ownership of the new location will change, Rick and Cindy Weil plan to maintain a presence by operating a booth within the revamped center.
In the lead-up to the move, shoppers can find steep discounts at the current location, with vendor booths offering markdowns ranging from 20% to 50% or more. Weil Antique Center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays through the end of June.
The Garden Shed, a seasonal vendor selling local plants and produce adjacent to the antique center, also plans to relocate to the Parkway Shopping Center, although a specific timeline has not yet been confirmed. The Garden Shed is currently open Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with operations at the current site ending in late June.
