WALNUT, Iowa — The 42nd Annual Walnut Antique Show is set to take place from Friday to Sunday, June 13–15, drawing collectors and shoppers from across the country to this historic Iowa town. Event hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Founded in 1982, the Walnut Antique Show has grown into one of the Midwest’s premier antique events. Over 300 dealers from across the United States will participate in this year’s show, replenishing their booths daily with a wide selection of antiques. The event consistently attracts between 20,000 and 30,000 attendees annually.
Visitors can expect a rich variety of high-quality antiques set against the backdrop of Walnut’s turn-of-the-century architecture, brick streets, and tree-lined avenues. The town’s permanent antique malls and specialty shops further enhance the experience, creating a vibrant and nostalgic atmosphere. Scheduled over Father’s Day weekend, the event is considered one of Iowa’s most anticipated seasonal attractions.
In addition to antiques, local organizations contribute to the show’s festive spirit by offering a wide range of food options. The Fire Department hosts a traditional breakfast, while church groups and the American Legion serve fare including roast pork, brats, hamburgers, funnel cakes, homemade ice cream, and frozen fruit bars. Several local restaurants will also be open to accommodate the crowds.
Organizers emphasize the unique charm and hospitality of Walnut, making the event a must-see destination for antique enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.
