Annual Antiques Show and Sale to Benefit Palatine Settlement Society in Canajoharie

by Cecily

The highly anticipated Antiques at Arkell Museum Show and Sale, benefiting the Palatine Settlement Society, will take place on Saturday, March 8, in Canajoharie. Known for its high-quality antiques and reputable dealers, the event promises a wide range of items for every collector and enthusiast. Shoppers can expect to find textiles, primitives, country furnishings, tools, china, glassware, books, ephemera, advertising materials, paintings, and jewelry.

A highlight of this year’s show will be an Appraisal Booth, hosted by Mr. Ed Schillaci of Schillaci & Shultis Auctioneers from East Schodack, NY. For just $5 per item with paid admission, visitors can receive a verbal appraisal. In addition, members of the Palatine Settlement Society will offer homemade soups, sandwiches, and desserts for purchase.

The event will be held at the Arkell Museum, located off Exit 29 of the NYS Thruway I-90 at 2 Erie Blvd, Canajoharie. The Arkell Museum, renowned for its significant collection of American art—many pieces donated by Beechnut founder Mr. Bartlett Arkell—will offer reduced admission on the day of the antique show.

The show will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no early-bird entries allowed. Admission is $6 for attendees over the age of 12. Those with a special advertising card, available at many antique shops, can save $1 on admission. Organizers are eager to welcome attendees for this annual event.
